1st Official Tournament

The 1st Official Tournament for the Pocket Monsters Trading Card Game was held at the 6th Next Generation World Hobby Fair, June 14th-15th, at the Makuhari Messe convention center in Chiba. There's an excellent article on this tournament over at Pokumon, which I recommend reading if you're interested. For our purposes here at Lucky Stadium, I'm just going to go over the rules and regulations:

Rules

The 2nd Edition Rule Book wouldn't be released until a week later, alongside Japan's 3rd expansion pack, 第3弾拡張パック 化石の秘密 (Mystery of the Fossils, their equivalent to the English Fossil set), but since the 2nd Edition Rules were identical to the 1st Edition Rules with the exception of the corrected Sleep rule, we can just say that the 2nd Edition Rules were used for this event. Japanese Card Errata Info

Many readers may be aware that Wizards of the Coast didn't always translate everything correctly, so many WotC-era cards would need erratas to function as originally intended. I'll go over those elsewhere, and that link will take you there when I eventually do. For now, though, I want to talk about something else: cards that would receive errata in Japan.
